Gary Wayne Bailey, 64, of Statesville formerly of Cornelius, died June 9, 2013 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1949 in Iredell County to the late Ray D. Bailey and Lois B. Bailey. He served in the US Army. He Read Obituary
I moved to this area just out of college 32 years ago, and started seeing Gary for haircuts when he had his shop beside the 7 Eleven in Cornelius. In that time I've had only 2 haircuts by anyone else, and they were his co-workers. I last saw him in April. In all that time Gary was a consistenly even, good natured fellow, regardless of what life was throwing at him. He was a courageous and exemplary fellow.
To the Family of Bailey: I am so sorry for your loss. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3,4…states “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death.
Cathy is has been a really long time. So sorry to hear about Gary. Thinking about you and your family during this very difficult time. I hope you find comfort and peace.
Gary has kindly tended Julius' hair for over 30 years, even coming to the hospital . We are ever grateful for his friendship and skill. We know these past couple of years have been tough, but he has kept on keeping on with good humor when we saw him. Cathy, we will miss him, and send you our wishes for courage and peace.
Cathy, it's been a while since I last saw Gary in Wal-Mart. We spoke for quite a while. It was nice seeing him. I am sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and the family.
