I have just learned of the passing of Larry. I am deeply saddened to hear of this. So many wonderful/fond memories of Larry as I was growing up in Va Beach and his company on hunting and fishing trips with my Father and friends in the past.
My deepest heartfelt condolences go to his family.
Larry will be forever missed and never forgotten.

How great to hear from you, a voice from our past. I appreciate your kind sentiments for Larry but as we know he is now with our Lord and probably smiling at your comments. I get to Charlotte a few times a year and would love to meet over a cup of coffee or a sandwich. May you take comfort in knowing that our Heavenly Father has promised to be a source of comfort for you during this period of distress (2 Corinthian 1:3,4 and Isaiah 41: 10, 13). And may you also take comfort in knowing that soon He "will wipe every tear form our eyes and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.." Larry and I worked together at Henry's Tackle for many years. I still remember the first day he came to Henry's following his time at a retailer which I believe was in Virginia Beach. Larry was a good friend and really enjoyed the sporting goods business, excelling at whatever opportunity was presented to him. When the Texas warehouse closed and Larry moved the Charlotte area due to his vision problem, we did not stay in touch. I saw him last at a Henry's show several years ago. His picture brought back many fond memories. My last correspondence with Larry was when he sent me a really good book written and signed by Joe Gibbs, who Larry said was in his Sunday school class. I will always remember him as a good man. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to know him. I see from the list of family and 7 grandchildren that the Gazzaway family continues to be blessed. Although I am saddened to hear about Larry's passing, I am comforted by knowing that Larry's soul will live on because of his salvation through Jesus. I will pray for peace for all.

Riley, please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of your brother, Larry Don. It was hard to believe I was reading his obituary in today's Observer when the name and picture brought back fond memories from when you and he lived in Paragould, Arkansas. Both of you and my twin brother, Bill, used to play and ride bikes together. He was always Larry Don and you were called 'Slats' as I remember. All my memories of Larry Don and you are good memories. May God's love guide you during this time of sorrow.
