My sweet friend. Michael, I am so grateful for your joy, generosity, kindness and the positive impact you made on this earth. I will carry you in my heart.
I met Michael on one of my first Tour de Cure bike rides to raise money for diabetes. That event started a passion in me to fundraise for a cure for Type 1, something that Michael and I (as a T1D myself) shared a passion for. Although I didn’t know him well personally, I always appreciated his words of support and all that he did for people with Type 1 like me, his son, and grandson. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Dee,
Ann and I are so saddened and sorry to hear about Michael's Passing on Feb 8th. He was such a good friend and big supporter of me after hiring me in 1988. He inspired me to always give my very best in life as well as my job. He truly loved life and spoke of his loving family often. He will certainly be missed by all of us who knew him but remembered for his love of life and desires to make others better.Ann and I pray that God will comfort you and the family during this difficult time.
But,know Michael is now resting in his heavenly father's arms and will never be forgotten by those of us who were fortunate to have known him.
Michael was a very special person in my life. He gave me my first big career opportunity when he hired me in 1988 at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. He was a great coach, mentor and most important, a great friend. In 1998 I returned the favor and brought Michael into Novartis Oncology where we once again worked together on the same team. He immediately made a huge impact and was beloved by all. Dee, you were the love of his life as he always talked about you and how much he cared and loved you and his family. Kerri and I are here for you for anything you need as Kerri and I thought the world of Michael and we do you as well. If there’s one silver lining in all this it’s knowing Michael is in a better place. I’m sure he’s up there now telling his many jokes to anyone who will listen. While we miss him dearly, one day we’ll see him again. Until then R.I.P. buddy!
Michael and I met in 1998 when we joined Gary Abbott in the Charlotte Oncology district. I Liked him right away. We enjoyed many professional successes as teammates. He was a pleasure to work with. We became fast friends and enjoyed staying in touch after we both retired. He will be sorely missed. Michael will be getting that new body in heaven. See you one day buddy. 💙
Mike was an incredible man so full of life. I liked him the first time we met. Dee we love you and are here for you if you need anything. He’s in heaven with his lungs fully working!!
Such a great picture of Michael. I had the good fortune to meet Michael over 25 years ago at Novartis. I admired his courage to speak up to try to make Novartis a better organization. He always kept patients first. I will miss his humor and quick wit and Angela and I will miss the dives with him and spending time in the Caribbean with both he and Dee. Rest well my friend.
