Andy was not only a skilled and respected neutral in our Charlotte office, but also a kind and compassionate individual who brought warmth and dedication to every case he handled. He will be deeply missed by all of us here at Miles.

I knew Andy for almost 40 years, initially when he and I would try injury cases against each other when he was a defense lawyer at Golding Meekins way back in the day. He was ALWAYS courteous and professional in litigation, and a great trial lawyer. Although we were not close friends, he would respond to something I would post on Facebook with humor and insight. I was so saddened to hear of his passing and my deepest sympathy to Jude and his whole family. Truly a professional and gentleman at all times, with a wonderful sense of humor.

Our deepest condolences to the Lax family. We were saddened to hear the loss of Andy on Sunday. We always enjoyed seeing him and catching up at PAC and even though my training with him was short lived, I enjoyed getting to know Andy much more and hear him speak so highly of his family. He was such a sweet man and loved his tennis!

I am so sorry to hear of Andy’s passing. I grew up in Orange, Va. And lived not far from him. He and my sister were good friends, and I got to know Andy through her. I always thought he was so humble. I will be praying for y’all! Blessings, Margaret Dorn 🙏
Deepest condolences to the Lax family. Andy was such a great guy, I have many fond memories of playing tennis with Andy, then shooting the breeze with him over a few cold beers. One of my favorite memories is going to the USTA singles league state championships with Andy where he defeated players almost half his age, which he would deservedly wear as a badge of honor. We actually reminisced about that experience the last time I saw him earlier this year. Rest in peace Andy.
Andy was not only a great guy but multi-talented. Lawyer, musician, author, tennis player, etc. The good ones often go too early. My deepest sympathy to Jude and the rest of Andy's family. He will be missed. - Kevin Carwile
I’m shocked and saddened to hear this. I had the pleasure of working with Andy at Miles. He was an outstanding lawyer and mediator and will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences go out to the Lax family.
There are no words…if we could give your family more time with Andy, we’d gladly give up some of the good times we’ve had in our lives (and there have been many). We’re so sorry for your loss and we send love and hugs to all who knew and loved Andy.
