Clay Todd

Clayborne "Clay" Alexander Todd, Jr. 71 of Charlotte died December 7, 2021 at his home. He was born on May 9, 1950 in Mecklenburg County to the late Clayborne "Duce" and Hazel Todd. Clay was a great father, Papa, friend, brother and mentor and was always there to lend an ear or helping hand. He was an avid golfer and loved baseball. During his working years, he succeeded in the food broker business and banking/mortgage industry. He was a hard worker but always made time for his family and friends. Since his retirement he worked part time at Mallard Head Golf Course. Clay spent most of his free time playing golf, watching baseball and gathering with family and friends. He was a die hard Boston Red Sox fan and watched them every chance he had. He will be truly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Survivors include his fiancé, Dale Helsabeck; sons, Scotty of Concord, Bryan of Charlotte and Jody of Charlotte; sister, Cyndi Brannen (James); grandchildren, Dylan, Alex, Graeson and Travis Lee.
