Curtis Mundy

Curtis Lee Mundy of Denver, passed away February 14, 2022. “Curt” as he was known, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 5th 1960. He grew up in the Oakdale Community and graduated from West Mecklenburg High School. He worked for Charlotte Douglas International Airport and for the past seven years for RJ Brewer Grading/Kelly Road Landfill. Curt enjoyed science-fiction movies, especially Star Wars and Star Trek. He had a love for horticulture and the outdoors in general and a passion for fishing. He took great pride in raising salt-water fish for many years and subsequently selling them to pet stores. He was also an avid gun collector. Curt had an infectious laugh and an impish grin and will be greatly missed. Curt is survived by his mother, Phyllis Mundy, brother, Bryan Mundy and sister Nicole Taylor all of Denver, North Carolina. Sons, Ryan Mundy of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Josh Mundy (Brittnay) and daughter Piper Mundy of Rockwell, North Carolina. Grand-children, Ashlee, Urijah, Swayze, Lainey, Luka, Lynlee and Maezi Mundy; niece, Megan Mundy and nephews, Ben Mundy and Lucas Taylor. Curt was also like a father to Alan and Griffin Evans for many years. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Mundy. A celebration of Curt’s life will be held on Sunday, February 20th at 4PM at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr. Huntersville, NC 28078.
