Delores Moore

November 25, 1942 - January 31, 2021

Delores Moore, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Atrium Health Pineville in Charlotte. She was born in Durham, the daughter of the late William Taft Herndon and Sarah Williams Herndon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gene Moore; daughter, Lorrie Dickerson; sister, Ramona Oliver; and brother, Clayborne Herndon. Delores loved her family; she had a big heart and was a devoted grandmother. She was the protector of the family, a guardian angel in this life and the next. “The Boss Lady.” Delores enjoyed spending her time traveling with her family and loved anything Disney. Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter, Lisa Breeyear and husband Robert; grandchildren, Lauren Nikki Wells and husband Dominic, Larry Cole Dickerson, Alyssa Breeyear; great-grandchild, Lailah Wells; siblings, Linda Beck, Carolyn Pipkin, Larry Herndon; Faye Jacobs and husband Roy; and brother-in-law, Derwood Oliver. A private graveside service will be held at Rosewood Cemetery in Hillsborough. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face coverings and social distancing are required for all services.
