    Donald Walter Suplee

    October 24, 1945 - January 29, 2022

    Donald Walter Suplee, 76, of Huntersville,NC passed away on Saturday, January 29,2022. Don was born in Morristown, New Jersey and lived in Robbinsville, New Jersey for 37 years before moving to North Carolina to be closer to his son and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Walter Suplee, Jr. and Lydia May Lodge Suplee. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Ann Suplee and their children; Carl Walter Suplee of Huntersville and his wife Tricia, and Laura Suplee of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren Kara, Lexi, and Nathan; sister Sarah Thatcher Suplee of Concord, NC, brother Stephen Lodge Suplee of Athens, Georgia and his wife Vickie, and many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins. He graduated from Trenton State College in New Jersey with a bachelor's and master's degree. He served on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971, achieving the rank of sergeant. For 30 years he was an Industrial Arts educator at Montgomery High School in New Jersey. While in New Jersey he was an Assistant Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America, a member and past president of the Washington Township School Board, a board member of the Montgomery Township Education Association, and had a continuing involvement in his fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 4:00 PM at James Funeral Home in Huntersville. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM. The interment will be on Tuesday, February 22, 1:00 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery.
