    Janet Hargrove

    September 4, 1957 - March 22, 2022

On March 22, 2022, Janet Taylor Hargrove passed away peacefully in her sleep at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House after a long illness. Born September 4, 1957 to Clifton Linwood and Mary Ann Taylor, she spent most of her life in Charlotte and the Cornelius area. She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward (Bud) Hargrove, sister, Sandra Taylor Bagwell and husband, Joe, sister-in-law, Lori Taylor, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Mark Taylor. Janet graduated from North Mecklenburg High School and attended Appalachian State University and Central Piedmont Community College. She was an avid and accomplished swimmer in her youth winning state titles. Janet was employed by The Charlotte Observer in human resources where she won the Knight Ridder Employee of the Year. She had a heart for the elderly and worked as a personal caregiver for many years. Her compassion for the homeless led her to volunteer with organizations that support our homeless neighbors. Her pimento cheese sandwiches were always a hit. She loved gardening and spending time at her family mountain home near Lenoir. Her fur children Uno, Heinz, Cocoa, and Sadie brought her great joy. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 3 pm in the chapel at Davidson College Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held immediately after the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Meadowlake Presbyterian Church in Huntersville (memo: Saturday Sharing Homeless Ministry), S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, or Cornelius Animal Shelter.
