Judith Short Watts, 79, of Charlotte died April 24, 2022. She was born in Anson County on June 16, 1942 to the late Grady and Kathleen Short. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to travel, spend time with her family, and be active in her church. She worked for the City of Charlotte as a Telecommunications Specialist for over 30 years. Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Watts (Tonya) of Charlotte, Steven Watts (Amy) of Huntersville and Gregory Watts (Malisa) of Gastonia; siblings, James Short (Marjorie), Nancy Brown, and David Short (Susan); grandchildren, Dillon, Reagan, Logan, Noah, Luke, Emma, Gabriel and Faith; and great-grandchildren Saelem and Pawley. Her husband Carson Watts preceded her in death, along with her sister Carolyn Horne, and brother-in-law James Brown. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove U.M.C. The funeral service will be held at 10 AM Monday, May 2 at Pleasant Grove U.M.C. with burial following in the church cemetery. Following burial, the family will receive friends in the church family life center. James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
