Laura Elliott

October 11, 1967 - January 23, 2022

Laura June Waddell Elliott, 54, of Huntersville passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2022. Laura was born in Winston-Salem on October 11, 1967 to Barbara P. Waddell and the late James Waddell, Jr. During the early years of her life, Laura lived in Pilot Mountain, NC and in her adult years always enjoyed visiting Pilot Mountain and Mount Airy. Laura grew up in Salisbury, NC and was always proud to call Salisbury her hometown. Laura graduated from West Rowan High School and received an Associates Degree from Salisbury Bushiness College. Laura worked in the accounting field her entire career including jobs with Chesapeake Display & Packaging and Madison River Communications. Most recently Laura served as the Office Manager/Bookkeeper at Elliott Law Firm in Huntersville. Laura enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to the Carolinas coast, Aruba and Las Vegas. Laura also enjoyed cooking, searching for bargains at local flea markets and thrift stores, enjoying Salisbury’s Hendrix BBQ, looking for the Hot Now sign to be illuminated at Krispy Kreme and attending Wake Forest University sporting events. Survivors include her mother, Barbara; husband Mike; son, Drew; siblings, Amy Bogle (Ron) of Cleveland, NC, Gwen Pfeifer of Cary, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her sister Karen Cole. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Drew Elliott Educational Fund in care of United Community Bank – Laura Rizzetta, 19510 Jetton Road, Cornelius, NC 28031. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at James Funeral Home on February 12, 2022 at 2:00PM. A reception will immediately follow the service. James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
