Lola Knox

August 21, 1934 - February 17, 2022

Mrs. Lola Spencer Knox, age 87, died peacefully at home in Burlington, NC, on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Lola was born August 21, 1934, in Drew County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Adlai Perry Spencer and Bertie Jones Spencer. She was the wife of James Mitchell Knox for 65 years. Lola is survived by her husband and three children: Karen Knox Hayes, Sara Knox Warren (husband Todd), and James Spencer Knox (wife Deanna), also a sister-in-law Nancy Semones Knox, as well as five grandchildren: Heather Hayes, Chelsea Warren, Savannah Warren, Toria Knox, and Spencer Knox. She also loved several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Guzal, and brother-in-law, John Law Knox. Lola graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a degree in Business Administration. She worked as an executive secretary and administrative assistant at UNC-Charlotte and Wilkes Community College. She also taught high school business courses in Northeast Georgia. Lola’s most rewarding job, however, was being a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother to her family. She was a member of the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Burlington, NC. Over the years, her dedicated service to the Women’s Ministries of several ARP Churches showed her love and devotion to the Lord’s work. In 2006, she was presented a Life Membership Certificate of the Women’s Synodical Union of the ARP Church. Graveside service and burial will be at the Huntersville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church cemetery on February 28, 2022 at 2:00. Arrangements provided by James Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC.
