I'm so Sorry I didn't know something happened to Roddey.. I knew he was going through alot at the time but, he was being very optimistic about everything and told me he was going to be okay.
I was with Roddey in Wilmington NC about 2 months after he opened Paul Davis Systems here and we were together from 1989 to 2004. We shared alot of good times going to Wrightsville Beach every weekend, going out to eat 2 to 4 times aweek and Went on quite a few Trips together. I use to get off at JCPENNEY'S and go to his Office to help him enter estimates at Paul Davis Systems until most of them were done working till 9 or 10 at night sometimes later then that. At the time he was running it alone except for his secretary and I did what I could to help him in the Evening time..
The Bisiness took off after 7 or 8 Months and it was doing Very Well so, he hired a couple of people ending those long nights at the office.
After 5 years he Sold Paul Davis Systems in Wilmington NC and bought the one in Charlotte NC. It was supposed to be a Surprise to me and when he finally told me about it I couldn't just up and leave my Family here in Wilmington like he thought I would.
Some days I really regretted not going with him but, I needed to stay close to my Family at the time..
Roddey had a Very Big Heart and was a Very Good Person with Great Respect for other people..
Heaven has Gained another Angel looking down over us here on Earth..
My condolences go out to his family and friends. I'm very saddened to have just found out about this because, I would have went to the Service but, we spoke very little after he moved back to Charlotte and when we did it was like we had just spoke the day before. Our lives took us in different paths but, we were always friends from that day forward.
Rest in peace my friend one day I will see you up in heaven.
