Rosemary Keeley

Rosemary Keeley, of Davidson, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, October 17, 2021. Rosemary was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, receiving Masters degrees from both Buffalo State University and Canisius College. She followed a circuitous route to Charlotte/Davidson with her husband of 45 years, George. Rosemary took great pride and satisfaction in her professional career and her involvement with various activities with her church, Hospice, and other charitable organizations. Following retirement, she took great joy with participation in and/or leadership of various activities of the Newcomers of North Mecklenburg and South Iredell and the Golden Girls organizations. Rosemary is survived by her husband George, sister Elsie and brother-in-law David Schreiber, sister-in-law Gail Kilner, brother-in-law John Keeley, sister-in-law Patricia and her husband John Maiuri, as well as numerous nieces/nephews and their offspring. A memorial mass will be celebrated in the day chapel at St. Therese Catholic Church, 217 Brawley School Road, Mooresville NC on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:30 AM and following the service at the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mooresville Christian Mission, 266 North Board Street, Mooresville, NC 28115 and / or Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Davidson, NC 28036 and / or The Pines at Davidson Residents’ Association, 400 Avinger Lane, Davidson, NC 28036. A special thanks to Dr John Powderly, Carolina Bio-oncology, and oncology nurse Jill Bradley for their life-extending and loving care of Rosemary over the course of many years; and to Michelle Otis for her gentle and caring handling of both Rosemary and George over her last several months.
