    August 14, 1942 - June 6, 2022

    Theresa “Terri” Frances Fliegauf, 79, of Concord (formerly of Washington Township, N.J.), passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. She was the beloved wife of Roy W. Fliegauf with whom she shared 56 years of loving marriage. Theresa was born August 14, 1942 in Port Colden, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Nathan Ford and Alma Frances Melroy. She was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1961, serving as the first female President of the Student Council, and attended Trenton State College class of 1965, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She worked in the Washington Township New Jersey school system for ten years during which she served as a president of the Teachers Association. She left teaching to raise her son and work in her husband’s business, Fliegauf Jewelers. During that time, she served as a president of the Washington Business Association. After her son was older, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Township School system. Theresa was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Church where she helped teach adult Bible school. In 2013, she and her husband moved to Concord, NC to be closer to their son and his family. She was a member of the Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon, helping teach Sunday School, and was involved in other activities as well. She also volunteered as a teacher at Primrose Academy, a child daycare center near their home in NC. Theresa is survived by her loving husband, Roy: her son, Christopher Fliegauf and his wife Rachel with their two children Caroline and William; sister Irene Howell; her brother, George Melroy and his wife, Miyong of Pleasant Grove, Schooley’s Mountain, NJ; her niece, Lisa Zipko and her husband, Brian with their son, Ethan of Lititz PA; sister in law, Kathleen Fliegauf of Oxford NJ; nephews, Evan Howell of Washington, NJ, Gregory Fliegauf and wife Denise of Washington of Township NJ, and Kurt Fliegauf and wife Heidi of Boston, MA with their two sons Erik and Matthew. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Charles Melroy. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Mallard Creek Rd, Charlotte NC on Friday, June 10, 11 AM. The family will receive friends after the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James Funeral Home of Huntersville, NC.
