Thank you so much for sending the beautiful notice of the memorial service for Anna tomorrow, I received it here in Toronto, Canada yesterday, and plan to watch the livestream with gratitude tomorrow.
I send my sincere condolences to Anna’s family and to her dearest friends who are all feeling her absence so keenly. I know that this time of separation is a very difficult time for you all, I’m so very sorry.
Anna’s ministry as a leader at the women’s Bible ministry at Heritage Bible church touched me deeply. My aunt, Marsha Frans attended that class and church and knew Anna (I texted a photo of the announcement for my aunt as she and my uncle now attend another church in Greenville, so she can watch the livestream at her request), and those ladies prayed for me and Anna sent a card of encouragement for health issues. Then, when she and Robert were coming to Southern Ontario, they made plans to meet me for dinner at one of their favourite Canadian restaurants, Swiss Chalet. It felt like a dream coming true to meet this lovely lady in person, and to meet Robert was a delight—I vividly remember he was such a kind gentleman who clearly enjoyed watching his wife engage with me, which made me happy to watch such beautiful and quiet affection and admiration between them. I still remember it, as they reminded me slightly of my own grandparents and that had touched me at the time. Such kind and thoughtful people! They had brought a friend with them, so there were 4 of us at Swiss Chalet for that meal together, it was a special time! It was very meaningful that they would take time from their visit back to an area where they had previously lived and would wish to visit a number of places and see old friends, that they would find the opportunity to have dinner with someone they had not yet met in person.
Anna talked of her children with love, and as most grandmothers do, she had a very special expression of very deep love when she spoke of her grandson, Jude!!! I read with great joy that she had a great-granddaughter, Esther, the joy that this child must bring to all of your family is great!
Anna’s love for her Saviour was so strong, and her obituary reflected this dedication so clearly, what a great testament to her life that was so well lived for her Lord Jesus Christ. She chose to serve her Lord, her family, and others—what a truly remarkable woman! I feel so blessed to have met her in person, and I feel such gratitude for her prayers. She leaves behind a strong legacy of faith, family, and service to others that is extraordinary.
Sincerely,
Joanne Lowe,
