Dr. Calvin Brian Cameron, 68 of Mooresville died June 26, 2019. He was born on August 6, 1950 in Winnipeg, Canada to the late William and Merveen Cameron. He started his career as a pediatric anesthesiologist at University of Man Read Obituary
I knew Calvin in high school. He was a tall galute with a big infectious grin. He and I went to Montreal in 1967 for a school festival. I was in the theatre club he was in the debating club. I remember his passionate speech about Western Canada Alienation. He didn't win the debate (easterners seem more concerned with style than with substance) but I was sure proud to be his school mate. By the comments I have read below it sounds like he went on to do well for himself and his family after I lost touch with him.

A fine man. You were one of a kind. Although your work here on earth is done. I am sure the next chapter is just getting started. Your sense of humor, kindness and calm demeanor was always a pleasure to be around . I know you are so happy to hug those sweet daughters of yours but those left here will miss you terribly. Playing Depaul soccer, Cal filled in for all of our dads when he was in town for games. He and Joanne were always there to support us whether we saw the field or not. After college, they opened up their home when we came for a visit. I loved listening to Cal's stories and jokes and I appreciated his laid-back, fun-loving demeanor. He was devoted to his family and I know that his legacy will continue in them. Sending love to all of you!

Dr. Cameron was an amazing man, with a smile that would light up your day. He was always humble and enjoyed telling me many stories of his adventures with his wife. We gathered around him on his last day working with us at the Novant Health Huntersville Outpatient Surgery for a photo and showered him with love and tears when he went off to travel and enjoy his retirement. I enjoyed every day that I got a chance to see him at work. You will be greatly missed. I pray for all of your family and friends during this time and know that you will be watching over us.

It was an honor to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Cameron. I enjoyed his wit, sense of humor, and kind words everytime I had the pleasure to work with him. Dr. Cameron was the kind of physician I consider "the best of the best". To sum it up, he was amazing! I will always remember you Dr. Cameron and I pray that God will provide comfort to the family during their time of grief. RIP Dr. Cameron.
Cal is such a dear friend whom I shall so miss. I shall always recall how he became a hero in Vietnam. While giving anesthesia in a "never-done-before-case" (kidney transplant), Cal saw the surgeon make a critical mistake. The long list of events that followed were intriguing but the end result was that the patient did great; Cal was immediately the hero. He then came under the immediate personal care of the top communist medical leader. Cal and Joanne were hosted to many more humorous (and almost life threatening!) experiences. Cal is STILL remembered with such fondness and love throughout Hanoi and HoChiMinh City. We love you Cal and Joanne! David & Begee Parsons
What an honor to have worked with Dr. Cameron for almost 10 years. Southpark Surgery Center loved him so much. If Dr. Cameron was listed on the schedule, we would do our little happy dance because we all knew it was sure to be a great day. Anytime we had a question or needed his help, his response was always "Yes my dear."
He was always so calm, cool, and collected no matter the circumstances. I always loved when he shared photos of his many trips and vacations. What a wonderful, generous, amazing person and doctor.
