Thomas John Cassano, 61, of Cornelius, NC, passed away on August 24, 2016 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. He was born May 27, 1955 in Syracuse, NY. He is survived by his wife, Judy; step-daughter Deanna and Read Obituary

The industry has lost a great teacher. I was always looking for his coments on flexo printing. Looking for new comentaires on flexo I found that he died.
Printers fron all the world will miss you.
One evening at the Allatoona Yacht Club, Tom approached us and said, "There's a slip open right across from Judy and I. Would you guys like to get it?"
And that was the start to one of the greatest chapters in our life, being dockmates with Tom and Judy. Fishing, movies on the dock, Dock 2 parties, Bloody Mary Sunday mornings, rafting up in a cove , watching Tom play the best air guitar anyone ever did, and discussing the prospect of obtaining some Star Trek dilithium crystals so we could give it "More speed, Scotty!". Amd laughing always laughter!
Yet, there was one constant--- The Phantom
The Phantom arrived every time we were on the dock, or rather, I should say he departed.
You see, inevitably someone would say, "Where's Tom?" The Phantom had made his disappearance. Tom could stealthily slip away without a sound only to eventually be located at one end of the dock or another practicing with his fly rod or fishing for striper.
Yet, whenever we needed help, Tom was always there willing to do some pretty hard jobs, foregoing getting out on the lake in order to climb down into the bilge to help change a battery or carrying things from a car down to the dock, whatever was needed.
Tom and Judy have been our best friends and though we will miss him, we will keep him with us when we remember the best of times. He will be in our hearts and minds as we will often revisit those happy days.

I've known Tom since Kindergarten, a life long friend and a great teammate, it was a privilege to have played baseball and broomball with you. Deb and I will always remember the great times we all had together. Our prayers go out to Judy and Tom. Rest in peace brother.
I was very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. The industry has lost a gifted contributor, but more importantly we have all lost a good friend. I'm glad I had the opportunity to get to know him.

I just received word of the passing of my friend Tom. I met and worked with tom for a few years at MacDermid. Tom was always smiling, and I immediately latched on to him first when I started there. He came up one weekend to hang out with my family on the Lake. We had a GREAT time every time we hung out. He will be greatly missed.

Oh what wonderful memories we have spent together with Tom and Judy! Boating on Allatoona Lake, they were our dock mates, mutual TDPYC members, and the BEST of friends throughout many years. Tom always called Ken "Mop Daddy" and built an emergency box of Rolling Rock for us to have, when we get really desperate. We will treasure that forever. And we will never forget the first day we met......for their first ride on Rowe Boat.....what a hoot that was!
Even after our boating days were over, we continued to be the best of friends (we're really family)! We hosted many parties at our home and have continued the tradition of the anchor drop on New Year's Eve off the top deck. And who can forget waking up the next day smelling like smoked hams from the fireplace.
Always fun, generous and kind, we will miss you Tom, but you will be in our cherished memories forever. We love you. Rest in peace brother.

We had great fun with Tom and Judy on Dock 2 at the Allatoona Yacht Club. Our lives have long since taken separate paths but we will always remember the great times we had together at the lake. We are so sorry to hear about Tom's illness and eventually passing and our thoughts and prayers go out to Judy and the entire Cassano family. May Tom rest in peace.

I have spent the last few days thinking of the adventures I had with Tom. all in the name of work and Flexography. The one I cherish the most was a Saturday in San Diego at the FTA conference, where Ron Schroeder & I were going on a road trip as we had the day off from FTA duties. I show up with the rental car, and see Ron has conscripted Tom along for our adventure up to Mt. Palomar. As the day went with three retired hippies in a convertible enjoying southern California, Ron & I were christened by the Reverend Tom with the appropriate names, Cheech and Chong. Names we have kept and continue to use. Even with Chong now retired.
I am sure the Tom memories will continue, although I would rather have a direct conversation with the Rev, the in my mind conversations will continue.
