Alan Burke Foster
November 28, 1948 - March 24, 2016
Alan Burke Foster, 67, of Huntersville, formerly of Simpsonville, SC passed away March 24, 2016 in hospice care surrounded by his family. Originally from Oklahoma, he was born November 28, 1948 to the late Haman and Florence (Vosper) Foster, of Guymon, OK. Upon graduating from Guymon High School in 1967, he attended Oklahoma State University, becoming a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity of the Beta Gamma Chapter. After receiving his bachelor's degree in 1972 from OSU, he attended Oklahoma City University Law School where he received his degree of Juris Doctor, becoming a part of the State of Oklahoma Bar Association capable of practicing law in the state of Oklahoma as well as the Oklahoma Supreme Court. In addition, he attended the National College of District Attorneys to become a prosecutor for the state of Oklahoma.Following in his father's footsteps, he practiced as an Assistant District Attorney for more than 20 years in several counties all over Oklahoma including Noble, Pawnee and Beaver. Moreover, he also served as an oil and gas attorney with the Oklahoma Corporation Commissionin Oklahoma City. He met and married Fiore Marie (Shack) Foster of Bartlesville, OK and they retired to Simpsonville, SC in December of 2010. Besides practicing law, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf and finding a joke in every conversation. He is survived by his wife, Fiore Foster of Simpsonville, SC; daughters, Micah Diane Hernandez (Saul) of Victoria, TX and Sarah Alexis Fecht (Peter) of Corpus Christi, TX; step-daughter, Holly Marie Burton (Don) of Denver, CO.; grandchildren, Ava and Emma Hernandez; Cousins, John Burke Garrett (Debbie) of Oklahoma City, OK and William Foster Garrett (Teresa) also of Oklahoma City, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, Haman Mitchell and Florence Elizabeth (Vosper) Foster; his older sister, GeorgeAnna Foster; his aunt Rebecca Nell (Foster) Garrett.A memorial service will be held at Christ Church in Greenville, SC, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2pm.
