Alexandra (Alexis) Reese's Obituary
Alexandra (Alexis) Reese, 89, of Dover, Ohio died Friday September 11, 2015 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Born March 3, 1926 in Athens, Greece she was the daughter of the late Sophia and Theodore Mourouzis.
Alexis was a 1944 graduate of Tuscarawas High School. Alexis was a graduate of the National School of Cosmeticians in New York City in 1946. Alexis retired in 1969 from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company after 21 years of service. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Philadelphia where she served as Sunday School teacher, high school youth advisor, choir member, deacon, elder and various other roles . She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 349 in Uhrichsville. Alexis was also a devoted volunteer for Mobile Meals at Union Hospital, as well as numerous civic groups. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed corresponding with all her family and friends throughout the years.
She will be sadly missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne L. Reese with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage. She leaves a son Nicholas "Nick" Reese and daughter-in-law, Maria Reese of Huntersville, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Noah Patrick Reese and Sophia Maria Reese; a brother, George Mourouzis and sister in-law Barbara Mourouzis of Springboro, Ohio and a brother Nick Mourouzis and sister in-law Marilyn Mourouzis of Greencastle, Indiana along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She is also preceded in death by a sister Zoie Famal of Urichsville, Ohio.
Inurnment will be held at the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio on Friday September 25, 2015 where she will laid to rest with her late husband. A celebration of Alexis's life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in New Philadelphia with Pastor Mark Unrue officiating. A reception, welcome to all, will follow in the church fellowship hall.
