Alice Johnson Anderson Wilder, 95, of Whitley County KY, North St. Paul MN and Huntersville NC, passed away Sunday June 8 at home, surrounded by her family. She is survived by sister Audrey, children Ed, Steve, and Jann, many grandchildren, particularly adorable great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws galore-- the matriarch of a great extended family. Alice was preceded in this passage by her parents, most of her brothers and sisters, two husbands: Ed Anderson and Baylor Wilder, and many, many friends.
Born and raised in rural Kentucky, she survived the depression, served as a civilian employee in the War and raised her children with Ed in North St. Paul MN. She and Baylor reunited at their 50-year high school reunion and returned to their childhood home in Kentucky. After his death, she joined her daughter’s family in the Charlotte area, providing grandmotherly advice for another 18 years.
