Alicia Chavis' Obituary
Alicia Leigh Privette Chavis, 40, of Fort Mill, SC left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Friday, August 9, 2024.
Alicia was born on October 10, 1983 in Charlotte, NC where she grew up and lived much of her life. She graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 2002 and then attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Alicia then went on to study at the University of Cincinnati to become a Nurse Practitioner. During her 16 years as a nurse Alicia worked for both Novant Health and Atrium Health in the Charlotte area. She was known as a loving and caring nurse to her patients and specialized in the field of Oncology. In the most recent years Alicia’s joy was found in being with her family and raising her son, William. Some of her favorite moments with them were spent at the beach and she was able to be at the beach just a few short days before her passing.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Trent Wayne and Travis John and grandmother, Anne Griffin.
Alicia is survived by her love, Nathan Walkup, their children, William and Olivia; parents, Wayne and Ronna Privette; sister, Ashley Walker (Steve); niece, Addison and nephew Griffin; and grandfather, Ronnie Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist Church of Charlotte, 6230 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the William Walkup Education Fund. Checks may be made to Ronna Privette and sent to 6230 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216 with William Walkup Education Fund in the memo line or to the Trinity United Methodist Church general fund at the same address.
