Amy McClure's Obituary
Amy Bohr McClure, 56, of Huntersville, NC died March 5, 2020 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House. She was born in Fayette County, IA on March 3, 1964 to Duane and Connie Bohr. She spent her youth in Sylvania, GA. After high school, she attended Clemson University, where she earned a Chemical Engineering degree. Later, she added a Masters Degree in Business Management at Queen's College. She entered the work force as an engineer with the Milliken Company. She went on to plant manager positions at Rexham, Elmer's, and Avery Denison. At the time of her death, she was employed at Henkel USA as a LEAN operations manager.
Amy was always laughing, and she loved challenges. Her interests were diverse. Her husband and sons were involved in the Boy Scouts of America. Thus, she became the Advancement Coordinator for Troop #98. She loved to travel, to explore, to cheer for the Clemson Tigers, golf, the olympics and to cross-stitch.
She was a dedicated member of Huntersville United Methodist Church, where she has served as Chairperson of the Staff Parish Relations Committee, as a volunteer for the Media and Sound Committee, and as a Vacation Bible School volunteer.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband Thomas DuBose “Tom” McClure; sons, Thomas Duane McClure and Stephen Davis McClure; and sisters, Alice Iwinski and Jennifer (Todd) Bazemore, her parents-in-law Thomas and Wilma McClure, her brother-in-law Andrew (Cindy) McClure, her sister-in-law Elizabeth (Seth) Hall. She is also survived by several beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Monday, March 9 at Huntersville United Methodist Church, with visitation to follow the service. Rev. Paul Thompson will officiate.
On March 14, 2020, a memorial Mass will be held at 3 PM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sylvania, GA. The visitation will be at 2 PM at the church's parish hall.
