Ania Skrzeszowska Wittmann's Obituary
Ania Skrzeszowska Wittmann, 45 years old of Charlotte, died October 31, 2018.
Born July 20, 1973, in Opole, Poland, Ania graduated from the University of Wrocław with a Masters in English, which included a study-abroad experience here at UNC-Charlotte, where she met her future husband, Walter Wittmann, in 1996.
Ania and Walter married on September 25, 1998, in Winston-Salem, NC.
She held many roles in the banking industry in Charlotte before becoming a Certified Financial Planner. Shortly after earning her CFP, she joined TIAA as a Financial Planner and was soon promoted to the role of Senior Financial Planner and promoted again to the role of Manager, Financial Planning.
She loved cooking, running, traveling, and reading. Ania often competed in races on the weekends and would reward herself with a pastry afterward - this was her motivation for running, she’d say.
She is survived by her husband, Walter, and their son, Robert Wittmann, both here in Charlotte; her mother, Wiesława Skrzeszowska, her sister, Bożena Skrzeszowska-Zagorska, her brother-in-law, Grzegorz Zagorski, and nephews, Maciek, Piotr, and Jakub, all in Poland.
There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends in the USA in the spring, plans yet to be determined. There will also be a Catholic Mass at her home church in Poland this summer.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider taking the vacation you’ve been wanting to take because life is unpredictable.
