Ann McArthur's Obituary
Ann Marie McArthur, age 55, of Cornelius, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday December 25, 2014. She was the daughter of Donald H. and Mary T. McArthur and was born in Omaha, NB on June 23, 1959.
Ann grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, attending Westminster Academy High School, graduating in 1977. She was editor of her school yearbook and was a member of the Lions Pride Drill Team. Ann received her Bachelors and her Masters Degree in Education from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. Ann taught high school for several years, as she had a real passion for children. She became a social worker and a guardian for abused and abandoned children. Ann moved to Cornelius, NC to be closer to her mother Mary and her brother Richard. She was blessed to have the best nephews in the world, Christian Thomas and Daniel Patrick McArthur. The most important thing in her life, however, was her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a young child, Ann dedicated her life to follow and serve Him. Everything she did was ultimately designed to glorify her Savior, who died for her. Although very ill over the last several years, she always knew the hope that is in Christ Jesus.
Ann was preceded in glory by her father, Donald Harry McArthur of Jacksonville Florida. She is survived by her mother, Mary Thomas McArthur, her brother Richard Charles McArthur and her two nephews Christian Thomas and Daniel Patrick.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 29 in the chapel of James Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Mumpower officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1300 Baxter St., Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204.
