Ann Parker's Obituary
Mrs. Annie Mae “Ann” Elliott Gaetano Parker, 92, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 29, 2016 at home.
Ann was born February 13, 1924 to Robert Burton and Ella Mae Elliott. She graduated from Paw Creek High School. Ann worked as a supervisor for 23 years for Hudson Hosiery Plant and when they closed she went to work for Richway/Gold Circle for 14 years as a department manager. During that time she received a degree in management from CPCC.
Ann was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Prosper James Gaetano and their youngest son, Kevan Daryl Gaetano.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her sons; James Elliott Gaetano, of Charleston, SC, Robert Barry Gaetano (Jane), of Charlotte, husband of 28 years, J.D. Parker, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister, Nellie McCracken, stepchildren; Joey Parker (Marie), Johnny Parker (Sarah), Kym Parker (April), Barbara Tarlton (Randy), Diane Speight (Dick), 11 step grandchildren, and 6 step great-grandchildren.
Ann was a life member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, UMW, and the Charles Rhinehart Sunday School Class. She volunteered for the Senior Nutrition Program and enjoyed many years of water aerobics at Y.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Committal services will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 until 3 p.m.
