Annette Marie Simpson's Obituary
Mrs. Annette Simpson, 67, of Charlotte, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at her home.
Annette was born in Elmira, NY, and grew up in Corning and Painted Post before moving to North Carolina later in life for her husband’s employment opportunity. She attended Corning-Painted Post West High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Elmira College. Annette enjoyed sewing, teaching, her beloved dogs, Ollie and Cooper, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Marilyn Wilson.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gary Simpson; her children, Jared Prescott (Laura) of Gillett, PA, Molly Gaston (Charles) of Charlotte, NC, Melissa Barlowe (Eric) of Cornelius, NC, and Rachel Auten (CJ) of Huntersville, NC; her stepchildren, Richard Simpson of Spencerport, NY, and Caitlin Simpson (Ben Muscolino) of Leesburg, VA; and her grandchildren, Sophia Kennedy, Brody Simpson, Jennings Prescott, Mick Prescott, Charleigh Auten, and Connelly Auten. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Andrysick of Pleasant Valley, NY, along with many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Paul Turbedsky, will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, 7:00pm, at James Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00pm prior to the service.
