Annie Mae Styers' Obituary
Annie Mae Gibson Styers, 92, of Huntersville, died January 30, 2022. She was born to the late Marion and Bessie Mae Jones Gibson on March 4, 1929 in Huntersville, NC. She was baptized as a baby and was the oldest lifelong member of Huntersville Presbyterian Church. There, she was a member of the Ladies Bible Study and the Present Word Sunday School Class. Annie Mae was a 1947 graduate of Huntersville High School, earning the honor of Valedictorian. She was an original member of the Red Hat Club of HPC. She retired from North Mecklenburg High School as an assistant librarian.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Everett Styers.
Survivors include daughters, Joy Styers Caldwell (Joe) and Sheilah Styers Black (Robin), granddaughters, Jenna Caldwell Hunt (Seth) and Jill Caldwell Browne (Billy); great-grandchildren, Braylon and Presley Browne, Henson and Clara Hunt and Autumn Stoehrel and special cousin, Josephine Jolly.
Her funeral service will be held at Huntersville Presbyterian Church at 2 PM Wednesday, February 2. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
