One of my dearest moments with Grandma was when she spoke to me sadly about her childhood desire to attend college and become a teacher. Something she never did because of family obligations. Even without the formal title she was a beloved Teacher to dozens of children, grand (& great-grand) children, and friends.
Although my children didn't meet Grandma, they will know her. Her spirit will live on with her memory and love. Rest now Grandma and give hugs and kisses to Pop from all of us.
Aunt Antoinette always had a warm and friendly home to visit. We looked forward to the family time and funny stories.
Antoinette being only 8 years older, and living so close for so many years, that it seems that we grew up together. My confirmation name is Theresa because Antoinette was my sponsor. All my childhood memories included ALL my aunts and uncles. Once Antoinette married Uncle Lloyd, the rest of her life was considered THEM. They were there when George picked me up for our first date, and they were happy his hair was normal. Antoinette even made our bed when we got home from our honeymoon (it was an Italian thing), and even opened with Cung all our wedding presents. We've been to each of their homes in every state they tried to hide from us. They even let us stay in their Carolina home for a wedding we went to, while they were living in their Florida home.
When expecting company, Antoinette, my mother and I would always be waiting by the window at our homes. We are so sorry we can't be there today, hopefully we can see the service on our computer. With TEARS and LOVE, Anna and George
I so enjoyed meeting Antoinette and Lloyd during several bible studies and small groups at St. Mark Church. They are both very special and giving people. May they now Rest In Peace together again. Judy Gibson
