Mr. & Mrs. Sparr were great role models for me at many different stages of my life. As a trusted advisor in High School Mr. Sparr (yea I know I still can't call him Arnie) - if he did not keep me out of trouble, he would get me back on track. I still remember the look on his face when I stopped by his home and told him I bought a house down the block - he said it was surprised but I think it was worried. Earning his respect is something that has made me proud and I will cherish.
If there was ever a kind and gentle spirit, it was Arnie. He was a wonderful man and loved his family and many passions. It was an honor and pleasure to know and work with Arnie at the USO and as a friend all around. Rest in Peace. Fondly, Julie M.
I worked as a volunteer with Arnie at the Charlotte Habitat for Humanity for many years. He was a very hard working and thoughtful individual. I will miss him.

We have all lost such a wonderful person especially his so loved family. Arnie was the most loving and caring person I have ever known. I have enjoyed the pleasure of his and prior to her passing Joan's friendship for over 70 wonderful years. My memories could fill a book of a life well lived. I doubt if Arnie was ever bored he lived a life so filled with doing for others. I last spoke to him last Sunday and he seemed so happy and anxious to get back into all his projects. I still cannot he has left us but sure his is already back at work filling a need in heaven and enjoying the hereafter with his beloved Joan. His legacy will long be remembered by everyone that ever knew him. May he rest in peace and may his family feel the love of all his friends. My Love and condolences to all of you. I met both Arnie & Joan Sparr about 57 years ago. They have been the finest couple I have ever known. A great loss for their family and their friends. Will miss them and never forget the times we had together.
