It is with such great sadness to learn that Audrey passed away in August. The last time our family heard from her was receiving her beautiful book of poetry. Audrey, or as I still called her Mrs. Van Vliet then crossed out and wrote Audrey, was my son Logan’s third grade teacher at the Forest Edge Elementary School’s gifted program. She was and will forever be the teacher you cannot forget. She taught Mental Math that was something to behold in her classroom, where Logan thrived. We stayed in touch all these years, over 30. We’d periodically meet up with her at the Reston Regional Library. When she moved to The Pines in NC, we continued to send holiday greetings each and every year. She was and will be forever missed because what I learned throughout the years is she was such a special teacher because she was such a special person.
Our family mourns her loss and wishes to extend our heartfelt wishes for yours. She was unique, so full of creativity, warmth, love, caring, knowledge, and deeply committed to sharing that with her students. And with us. May you find comfort in how much she was loved and appreciated.
Sincerely, Lorraine, Jonathan, and Logan Kleinwaks
