Barbara Wilson Brooks' Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Wilson Brooks, 91, of Denver, NC got her angel wings Friday, February 13, 2026.
Barbara was born in Davidson to Grier and Eudell Wilson on December 3, 1934. She married her high school sweetheart, Roland S. Brooks. They moved to Tampa, Fla in 1964, where she became the Secretary at Baycrest Elementary School. They moved to Wilmington, NC in 1983 and she continued working in the school system there as the Secretary to the Psychologists. From Wilmington she moved to Birmingham, AL in 2018 to be closer to her daughter. After the passing of her daughter, she moved to Denver, NC in 2019 to be closer to her son. She loved her family above all. She was known as Mom, Mimi, Bar, and Barbara and loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grier and Eudell Wilson, her husband, Roland S Brooks and her daughter, Wendy Patton.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeff (Susan) of Denver, grandchildren, Ivy Stroupe (Adam) of Lincolnton, Holly Dunn (Rick) of Mooresville, Emily Patton of Birmingham, AL and Ryan Patton (Lydia) of Fort Smith AR, 10 great grandchildren, Special Friend, Nolan Caldwell and many loving cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 19th from 1-3 at Fair View United Methodist Church, 1430 Mecklenburg Hwy, Mooresville, NC. Burial will be private.
