Barbara Gleason's Obituary
Barbara Marlene Gleason, 83, of Denver, NC passed away on September 17, 2016. She was born on March 2, 1933 in Guilford County to the late Laurin and Verl Peele.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Gleason and her grandchild Jeremy.
Barbara lived the majority of her years in Greensboro, NC and worked for over 30 years in the credit department at Sears. For the past 9 years, she resided in Denver, NC.
Survivors include her sons, Jackie Jr. of Burlington, NC and Don and wife Hye of High Point, NC; daughter, Debbie Thrap and husband Eddie of Denver, NC. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren (Jack, Josh, Chad, Derek, Erica, Ruffin) and 7 great-grandchildren. (John, Jackson, Taylor, Grealyn, Graham, Ayden, Shepard).
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, cleaning, shopping for bargains and spending time with family and friends. Barbara was cheerful and always extended a warm greeting to all.
The service to celebrate her life will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 21 in the chapel of James Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the community room of James Funeral Home.
