Barbara Amelia (Gutowski) Hertzel of Pineville, NC, born in Lackawanna, N.Y., left us on October 3, 2020, returning to the starry heavens. She is survived by 4 daughters, Karen Pratt (Bruce), Suzanne Hertzel-Nelson (Paul deceased) Read Obituary
Norman and Barbara were 2 of the nicest people we have had the opportunity to know.We met them after we had sold our property to their Dtr. and Son in Law ,Linda and Doug Hartkopf. We always enjoyed Norman's visits each time they came to Maine.They were very nice people and we will miss the visits and good advice Norman always shared .Our sincere condolences to the family for your loss........fly high Barbara !
Barb was a special friend from HFFA and I will miss her.

Barb's smiling face and twinkling eyes greeted me each time we gathered together in our puppet ministry at Davidson United Methodist Church. Her warmth, peaceful nature, and consistent devotion to sharing God's love are memories of her that I will hold always.
Rest in peace, Dear Barb, with your life partner Norm whose laughter I still can hear echoing in my memories. I know a reunion is taking place as we grieve your loss on earth.

Barb and Norm were very active in our puppet group at Davidson United Methodist Church (DUMC). When I think of Barb, I think of her kind, warm voice and how, even behind a puppet stage (as I was one of the puppeteers) you could hear the children smile. Barb lovingly found ways to support Norm's involvement in the puppet team. In their last shows, Norm would come with his oxygen machine. He'd perform with his booming voice even with the machine beside him. Their joy in their faith radiated their lives and through their puppets. I can hear Barb laughing at the children's responses to her puppets. I can see her smiling at Norm's laughter as the children engaged in the puppet stories. I will miss them but am so pleased that they live actively in my mind with so many wonderful memories. -- Tim Chartier
Our family has fond memories of Barbara and Norm from the DUMC Puppet ministry. Such kind souls. Blessed to have known them and thankful they are together again.

I loved Ms. Barbara. She was such a joy to be around and she always had a sweet smile on her face. I loved seeing her come to church!
Many prayers and love to you and the entire family, but I know she's dancing in Heaven now!!!!! Can't wait to see her again.

I first met Barbara here in Huntersville as a member of the 55+ senior group. We also went to Davidson Methodist Church and were part of a dinner group together. She was a warm, loving person and we will miss her. Bob & Carolyn Gorman
We were so very fortunate to have known her and Norm. One of the first people we had the pleasure to meet in the Centennial community. Enjoyed many senior trips and lunches with her. She was a kind and sweet lady. Rest In Peace. She is with her beloved husband now. Anita and John Carroll
