Cheryl Walker Mcgowan (First Cousin On Mother, Opal Davis Side)
I will always remember Dale as the most beautiful elegant classy woman I ever met. She was my cousin, my father's sister's oldest child. I always felt the love Dale had for me and my family, her family, whenever I was around her. She was a kind and a sensitive woman with charm and grace. My father, her uncle Garland and "the Reverend" as she so lovingly called him loved and cherished her as well as did my Mother whom she called "Thel".
Her generosity and gratitude that she exhibited to us was none other that pure LOVE. I am so glad I went to see her Friday...It has been too long. She held onto my hand and I reassured her that those who love her are waiting and rejoicing of her homecoming. When I reminded her about what "the Reverend" had preached, she squeezed my hand.
I sang to her and told her how much I love her. It saddens my heart to know she is gone but I believe with all my heart that she was ready to go and that she is with the Lord and no longer in pain. God bless you my family, whether it be through blood or marriage. I love you and my prayer is that God will touch your lives and dwell in your hearts so that we all will meet again one day in Glory. I promised "the Reverend" I would continue to pass this on after he is gone.......AMEN ALL MY LOVE....
