Benjamin Blankenship's Obituary
Benjamin Barron Blankenship, Jr., 68, passed away on June 07, 2026. Benjamin was born on July 03, 1957 in Charlotte, NC to Faye Wright Blankenship and the late Benjamin Blankenship, Sr. Ben graduated from West Mecklenburg High School and attended Western Carolina University and the University of Washington-Seattle, after which he enjoyed a career in Sales. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Ben loved visiting and vacationing in the NC Mountains...Asheville, Boone and Blowing Rock being some of his favorite spots. Ocean Isle Beach, NC was also his happy place. Toes in the sand and the crashing waves brought so much peace and happiness to him and his family. Ben loved music, with James Taylor being one of his favorite singers. He was fortunate enough to see him in concert many times. Ben also loved cooking, becoming a bit of a foodie and enjoying grilling with his family around. He had a special fondness for his dogs, Lucy and Rio, but the love of his life was his wife, Dana. They were always together doing what they loved and loving each other to the ends of the earth.
Preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Blankenship, Sr., Ben is survived by wife, Dana Turpin Blankenship; mother, Faye Blankenship of Charlotte, NC; his children, Anna Kerrigan (Bill) of Mooresville, NC, Benjamin David Blankenship (Allison) of Denver, NC and Allen Blankenship also of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Liam, Jameson, Brody, Lily, Jack and Ben; and sister, Terri Blankenship of Charlotte, NC.
