Bernice Breeden's Obituary
Bernice Austin Breeden, 90, of Cornelius, passed away on September 12, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1934, in Union County to the late James and Annie Mae Austin.
Bernice dedicated her career to Bank of America, where she worked diligently and made significant contributions over the years. Outside of her professional life, she was passionate about crafting, painting, sewing, her love of roses and baking. She spent countless hours creating beautiful handmade items, from intricate quilts to stunning paintings, to her famous cakes. Her love for these hobbies was well-known among her friends and family, and she often shared her creations with those she loved.
She was married to Darwin Breeden for 51 wonderful years. Her laugh and love for her family will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Stokes (Guy Stokes); her sons, Michael Hankins (Barbara Hankins) and Mark Hankins (Tracey Hankins); her sister, Nancy White; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Huntersville.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at noon. Visitation will be held one hour prior in the sanctuary, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
