Bertha Osborne Ballard's Obituary
Bertha Osborne Ballard, 85 of Davidson, died May 10, 2013 at the Novant Health Hospital in Huntersville, NC.
She was born on February 16, 1928 in Mecklenburg County. She was the daughter of the late William Orr and Elvetta Arnette Osborne; and the wife of the late Thomas Jefferson Ballard. She was a Life Member of the Long Creek Chapter 151, Order of Eastern Star, member of Hopewell Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her son, Jeff Ballard of Davidson; a sister, Ellis Kelly of Mooresville; a granddaughter, Christie Elizondo and husband Rondo of Indian Trail; and great-grandsons Tyler and Jalen Elizondo. She was preceded in death by a son, Steve Ballard; five sisters, Lucille Stutts, Margaret Purser, Madelene Kennerly, Willie Mae Meadows and Lena Swaim; and a brother Billie Ray Osborne.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Samuel Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Zion Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at James Funeral Home.
