Betty Jean Scott Bridges, 89, of Charlotte, died November 18, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1935, in Woodruff, SC, to the late Charles Scott and Lottie Fowler Scott Duckett. Betty was raised by her mother and the late Clevelan Read Obituary
Although I never got to know Betty, I somehow feel a love for her. Probably because I had many opportunities to see how devoted to and deeply loved by Dawn she was. Then too, people have commented that Dawn seems to have received some of her finest traits from her mother. These things make me know what an incredibly special person Betty must have been. I look forward to meeting her one day in heaven. My loving condolences to Dawn and Bill, to Buddy and.all the family.

Although Mom and I only met and knew Miss Betty for the past several years, we immediately felt her sweet and gentle spirit and witnessed her deep commitment to Buddy and her daughter, Dawn. She was full of love and light, and the two of them, Buddy and Betty, “The B’s”, had such a steadfast and unyielding love for each other and were undeniably such role models for their family.
I know now where Dawn got her incredible cooking skills from as well as her ability to make those around her feel comfortable, cared for, and understood. She got all this from her mamma, Miss Betty.
Thank you Lord for allowing my mom and I the opportunity to meet “The B’s” and become close neighbors to Dawn and Bill and family. They all are such blessings to us in our neighborhood. Please hold them, Buddy, and the rest of their family close as they allow Miss Betty to return home to you. She is free and healthy and forever loved.

Ms Betty was a delight to meet until the very last day I saw her. She was on the list of my favorite people in this life simply because she could wink. A woman of very few words just smiles winks and light whispers of yes and ok. She will be missed. Id Thank her for allowing me to assist and care for her and her being always thankful and sweet about it.

My goodness! Mrs. Betty was the kind of woman whose presence you felt before she even entered the room! Soft, dainty, and forever put together with a grace that seemed almost timeless. Her long, elegant legs carried her with the poise of someone who lived life with dignity and quiet strength. Caring for her was never just a job for me; it was an HONOR.
I watched the way she lit up whenever her husband of 70 years walked into the room, the way her eyes softened and her smile told stories words never could. Their love was the kind people spend lifetimes dreaming of...steady and deep. To witness that bond, and to be trusted with her care, was one of the greatest blessings of my journey as a caregiver.
