Betty Holton's Obituary
Betty Holton, 90, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on March 2, 1935, in Bluefield, West Virginia, she lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep devotion to her family, and a spirited personality that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Betty was the beloved daughter of Hazel and Wesley Boyles and grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ernest Boyles, James Boyles, Edward Boyles, Kenneth Boyles, and Lena Bowling. Her sisterly bond with them shaped much of her early life and instilled in her the values of resilience and loyalty that she carried throughout her years.
A devoted single mother, Betty raised her children with strength and grace. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Tina Staton (John) and Wendy Mendoza (Bonifacio). Her daughter Roberta Jones preceded her in death.
Betty’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Lisa Duke (Ricky), Pamela Edward, John Jones, Sarah Staton, Juan Zuniga Jr. (Morgan), Ashley Moore (Malcolm), Makeila Zuniga, Alan Mendoza, Johel Mendoza—and the memory of her grandson Joseph Staton who passed before her. Each grandchild held a special place in Betty’s heart and brought joy to her life.
Throughout the years, Betty wore many hats with determination—mother, grandmother, sister, friend—and did so with grace. Her home was often filled with laughter sparked by her sharp wit and warm stories shared over comforting meals. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: time spent with loved ones and moments of connection that reflected the depth of her character.
At the center of Betty’s life was an unshakable faith in Jesus Christ. Her spiritual strength guided every decision she made and offered comfort to those around her.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wendy’s residence located at 141 Morcroft Lane in Cleveland, North Carolina (27013). This will be a time to share memories and celebrate Betty’s remarkable life.
