Betty Lou Pierce's Obituary
Betty Lou Pettus Pierce, 91, of Huntersville, NC passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023. She was born on September 6, 1932, in Charlotte NC, to the late Banks and Lila Pettus. Betty was an active member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church, including serving as the president of the Presbyterian Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Mecklenburg Historical Society and served as a docent for many years. She also served as the Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and bragged about having 91 first cousins. Her pride and joy included many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Flower gardening and reading were among her passions. She was recognized a Bible scholar by all who were privileged to know her.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Ann Dulin; brother, Lloyd Donald Pettus; and grandson, Nicholas Edward Pierce. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roland Edward Pierce; children, Robin Westmoreland (Keith) of Huntersville, Edward Pierce (Melinda) of Huntersville, and Eric Pierce of Huntersville. Grandchildren include Matthew, Casey, Amanda, Meagan, Patrick, and Katie.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, 11:00am at Hopewell Presbyterian Church and the family will receive friends after the service in the Family Life Center.
