Beverly Harrison Metzger's Obituary
Our beloved mother, Beverly Harrison Metzger, 80, of Almond, NC, formerly Cape Coral, FL went to be with the Lord June 26, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Cornelius, NC. She was born in Flint, MI on May 10, 1933 to the late Edgar and Ruth Harrison.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Metzger; son, Brian and wife Suzanne of Berlin, NJ; daughters, Jill Andreasen and husband Peter of Cape Coral, FL and Heidi Uszenski and husband Ron of Cornelius; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brandy (and husband Brandon), Eric, Alexandra, Chelsea, Ron Jr., and great-grandson Logan and sister Patricia Shaw.
She was a doting wife, mother and grandmother and loved spendign time with her children and grandchildren. Her life was one of quiet, faithful service to her family, friends, and her church.
Beverly joined First Federal Savings and Loan of Ft. Myers, FL and was promoted to branch manager at their office in Cape Coral, FL until her retirement in 1996. Soon after she and Kenneth moved to North Carolina.
She was an active member of Grace Mountainside Church in Robbinsville, NC where she served in various roles and was currently serving as treasurer. She has chaired various committees such as Relay for Life, collecting items for soldiers in Afghanistan and distributing food for the needy.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the chapel of James Funeral Home.
