Bill Brannon's Obituary
William (Bill) Edward Brannon, 99, died on Friday, June 28, 2024, peacefully in his home in Mooresville. Bill was born across the road from Beaver Dam outside of Davidson on April 7, 1925 to the late Charlie and Carey Wingate Brannon.
After graduating from Davidson High School, he served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman on an aircraft carrier in World War II. After the war, he graduated from King’s Business College in Charlotte. He then worked as an accountant for Park Elevator Company and Sealtest Foods. He served as Treasurer for North Mecklenburg Ambulance Service and the Davidson United Methodist Church. In the last 16 years of his career, he was with the Town of Davidson as Administrator and Treasurer, where he retired in 1990.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Silvadean Overcash Brannon; and son, James Edward Brannon. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Patterson and husband, Larry, of Mooresville, NC; grandson, Jonathan Patterson and wife, Sarah; granddaughter, Blair Brannon Dwyer and husband, Timmy; granddaughter, Jessica Brannon; and great-granddaughters, Anna Patterson, Molly Patterson, and Bailey Dwyer.
Services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at James Funeral Home in Huntersville. Family will receive friends for a time of reception and visitation from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. and the memorial service will follow at 11:30. The interment will be immediately following the service at Mimosa Cemetery in Davidson.
