William Edward Whitby, 72, of Huntersville went to be with his Lord on March 12, 2016. He was born on July 29, 1943 in Nottoway County, VA to the late William and Edna Whitby. Bill signed with the Minnesota Twins in June 1961 as a Read Obituary

Donelle, I send my deepest condolences to you and your family. I was Char's next door neighbor in the 1960s and used to,go to all Hornet games and watching Bill pitch. He was one of our favorite players! So glad I got to see you and Bill during the Aug 2014 reunion at BB&T ballpark and chatted with you all. My prayers are sent to you and family.
