Billie Howey's Obituary
Billie Geraldine Howey, age 72, died on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Bill Sunday Frye, Sr., and Frances Ruth Holder Frye and the wife of Ben Frank Howey, Jr. of Mt. Holly.
She was born in Newton, on September 23, 1945, and grew up in Catawba County. Billie was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church. Billie enjoyed bowling and collecting angels. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Ben, Billie is survived by her son, Johnny Shook (Ronda) of Shalotte, daughter, Darlene Eison of Albemarle, a brother, Billy Frye (Karen) of Clairmont, sister, Debbie Frye of Newton, stepchildren; Anthony Funderburk of Greensboro, Ben F. Howey, III (Carrie), Derick Miller (Vicky), Sharon Hall (Jeff) all of Charlotte, Regina Howey of Huntersville and Kimmy Howey of Charlotte, grandchildren; Heather Miller, Kaitlyn Shook, Billy Shook, Alica Shook, Holly Shook, Maggie Shook, Kyle Shook, and other much loved grandchildren, great grandchildren and a large extended family who loved her very much. Billie is predeceased by a son, Floyd Shook, and a brother, Claude Frye and joined in death by her grandson, Uriah Eison.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 12:50 pm, Monday, January 8, at Calvary Baptist Church, 10301 Harwood Lane, Charlotte, NC 28214. Her Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm in the Sanctuary of the church with Pastor Jack Homesley officiating. Burial will follow at Beatties Ford Memorial Gardens, 11201 Beatties Ford Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 10301 Harwood Lane, Charlotte, NC 28214.
