Billy Randall Tesh's Obituary
Billy Randall Tesh, age 66, of Huntersville, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Known as Bill, or AKA Slick Willie, he was the son to the late Herbert Stanley Tesh, Jr. and Nannie Ruth Bodenheimer Tesh.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 11:00, Saturday, April 21, 2018, in the Chapel of James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Northlake Memorial Gardens, 11001 Alexanderana Rd, Huntersville, NC.
Bill graduated from Harding High School in Charlotte where he lettered in football and track and was a member of the chorus. After graduating, he volunteered for the service and proudly became a United States Marine. Upon returning home from the military, he worked at a variety of places such as Duke Power, Peddler Steak House (his absolute favorite place to eat) and LaRock’s Fun and Magic Shop. He eventually became the Owner and Operator of Tesh’s Grocery. Bill was a member of the Long Creek Masonic Lodge, Oasis Shrine and an Honorary member of the Oasis Shriner’s Dune Cats.
Bill will be remembered by his friends and customers for his sense-of-humor, friendly smile and his generous heart. Mr. GQ as his family and friends often called him, loved life and lived it his way. He embraced every moment, stood steadfast during any adversity, and greeted each day as a blessing.
Bill is survived by his son, Jamie Randall Tesh and his wife, Tracie, granddaughter, Hannah Marie Tesh, all of Jacksonville, FL, brothers, Herbert S. Tesh, III and his wife, Pat of Fort Mill, SC, Mark Tesh and his wife, Cindy of Charlotte, sister, Lynn Mason of Huntersville, nieces and nephews; Herbert S. Tesh, IV, Denise Carnahan, Thomas Tesh, Nathan Tesh, Ellen Elder and Brent Mason.
Pall Bearers will be members of the Oasis Shriners Dune Cats.
