Brevard Kidd's Obituary
William Brevard Kidd, 86, of Charlotte, lifelong member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church, died November 19, 2012 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House. He was born on December 29, 1925 in Mecklenburg County to the late Chester Walton and Bonnie Wilson Kidd. Brevard served in the US Army, where he was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He proudly talked to his grandchildren about his boxing days in the Golden Gloves. Until retirement, he owned and operated Brevard Kidd Grading.
He was preceded in death by his son Billy and daughter Judy Kidd; brother C.W. Kidd, Jr.; sisters Mary Neal Pangle and Sarah Sharar.
Survivors include his wife Tolie Kidd; sons, Jim Kidd and wife Susan and Chris Kidd and wife Candy, all of Charlotte; daughter, Bonnie Tadlock and husband Bill of Concord; sister Hazel Dunn of Charlotte; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, to whom he lovingly leaves a legacy of Christian faith.
Memorials may be made to the Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Friday, November 23, 2012 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alan Purtill officiating. Visitation will follow in the family life center.
