Bruce Milstead's Obituary
Bruce Franklin Milstead, 74, of Huntersville died November 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on March 30, 1947, the son of Frank and Thelma Milstead. He was born in Winston-Salem and reared in Charlotte. He attended Garringer High School and then enlisted in the Coast Guard for 4 years, spending 1 year in Vietnam. He worked for 30 years as a overhead crane operator at Florida Steel. He enjoyed his family, gardening, building models, football and reading. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended St. Mark Catholic Church and was a Knight of Columbus for over 30 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Franklin Milstead and daughter-in-law, Erin Hoover Milstead.
He is survived by his mother Thelma Milstead; wife, Terry Milstead; son, Brian of the home; son, Paul of Huntersville; daughter, Kimberly Griffith (Morgan) of Kannapolis; 5 grandchildren, Kayla, Hope, Kohl, Preston and Hayden; 2 great-granddaughters, Amber and Peggy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lake Norman, 705 Griffith St. Suite 203, Davidson, NC 28036.
The family will receive friends from 10:30-12 Noon Wednesday, December 1 at St. Mark Catholic Church followed by as a mass at 12:00. A reception will follow the mass at James Funeral Home, Community Room. He will be laid to rest at Northlake Memorial Gardens with a private service.
