Burwell Jordan's Obituary
Dexter Burwell Jordan, 98, of Huntesville, NC went to be with the Lord on February 8 at the Huntersville Oaks. He was born on March 15, 1915, the son of the late Oliver and Minnie Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Brunette Jordan and his sister, Eva Jordan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Beulah Ferrell Jordan.
Mr. Jordan proudly served his country during World War II in the US Army Corps as crew chief of the 24th Bomb Group in the 8th Airforce 7th Squadron. He was awarded the Bronze star for sending out his planes on over 100 mission without any aborts due to mechanical failure. Also, he received the soldier’s medal for putting out a fire on a B17 Bomber, preventing the loss of many lives. Dexter owned and operated the Modern Radiator Repair Shop in Charlotte for many years.
A member and active volunteer of Asbury United Methodist Church, Mr. Jordan and his wife led the youth group for several years. Also, he volunteered to help others through missions as well.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, February 11 at Asbury UMC. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary and again following the burial in the church cemetery.
