Butch Saunders' Obituary
Mr. Vernon “Butch” Lee Saunders Jr., 67, of Huntersville, NC, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Butch was an avid fisherman, car enthusiast, dedicated husband, and loving father and grandfather. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist church.
He was preceded in his death by his parents: Vernon “Dink” Lee Saunders Sr. and Betty Jean Hall Saunders of Mooresville, NC. He has two surviving sisters, Brenda “Susie” Howard (Larry) of Statesville, NC and Jennifer Mills (Alan) of Salisbury, NC.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Martha Gibson Saunders of Huntersville, NC; two daughters Cari Lynn Saunders, of Mooresville, NC; Kimberly Dawn Campbell, of Mooresville, NC; a son, Jared Lee Saunders (Crystal) of Charlotte, NC and four granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00PM, Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Hopewell Baptist Church, 8841 Davidson-Concord Rd., Davidson, NC 28036. The Funeral will be at 3:00 PM and burial will follow in the church cemetery, immediately following the service. All are welcome to come and join the family in celebrating Butch’s life.
